We clean our home with cleaning products we are not 100% sure to be non-toxic and free from potential health risks. The people who joined the movement of going green looks for the “natural” and “pure” labels in the products. These products claim that it does not contain any toxic ingredients. However, you can be 100% sure if you use the basic ingredients that you can find at home.

The basic ingredients that you can find in the kitchen are listed below, and use these ingredients as a non-toxic cleaning aid.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is used to clean and deodorize equipment and materials inside the bathroom. When baking soda is combined with water or vinegar, the suds and cleaning power increases.

You can use baking soda in cleaning toilet bowls. Pour ΒΌ cup of baking soda into the toilet and spray an adequate amount of vinegar around the toilet bowl. Leave the toilet bowl and let the baking soda sit for 30 minutes. Scrub and flush the bowl, and add borax to remove the stains. If you are using ceramic tiles and tub, mix a half cup of baking soda and 3 tables of liquid soap.

Washing Soda: It is also called as sodium carbonate and highly alkaline. It acts as a disinfectant and water softener. The high level of alkaline in washing soda gives it the capability to remove stains and cut grease. It can be found in the laundry section in the groceries.

Lemons, Limes, Oranges: Citrus can be used as an alternative to cleaning products. The lemon juice acts as a natural cleaner with its antibacterial properties. It prevents the accumulation of bacteria and germs around the bathroom. More so, it can brighten the dull corners of the floor tiles and provides an amazing scent.

Borax: Some say that Borax is not safe to use as a cleaning product. But, it is not. It is the most bought product on the market. Borax acts as a disinfectant and can deodorize the bathroom. It can be found in the laundry section of the grocery store.

Vodka: The high alcoholic content of vodka can kill bacteria that grew in the molds at the corner of the bathroom. When vodka is wiped on a surface of glass or chrome, it can make the surface shine. More so, the vodka can kill and freshen-up the damp odor of the bathroom.

Quit using hydrochloric acid and chlorine bleach, these are harmful ingredients that can cause chronic problems to your health. The inhalation of these ingredients can pose risk to the respiratory system of your family member. Thus, formulate a homemade cleaning product on your own with the ingredients mentioned above.
